Job summary

Intuitive Machines Llc seeks a skilled PCB Designer to join the Avionics team as a Librarian/Designer. You will build and maintain a centralized ECAD database, craft accurate schematic symbols, and prepare flight-ready footprints and layouts following IPC standards.

You will collaborate with mechanical engineers for 3D STEP integration, manage lifecycles of components, and support tests and board bring-up in a fast-paced space environment.

Qualifications

• IPC CID Certification required or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with Altium and ECAD tools in avionics.
• Proven schematic capture and PCB layout for complex analog, power, and mixed-signal boards.
• Space-grade layout practices including return-path control and thermal via implementation.
• Experience with 3D STEP models and integration with footprints.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and update the central ECAD component database across the Avionics organization.
• Design schematic symbols and PCB footprints per IPC standards and leadership requirements.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate 3D STEP models for clearance checks.
• Monitor component lifecycles, mark parts as active or obsolete.
• Own PCB layout execution for avionics boards from schematic to fabrication.
• Support circuit-level analysis and simulation for signal- and power-integrity.
• Apply space-grade layout practices including grounding strategy and thermal conduction.
• Define PCB stackups, copper weights, and impedance control for space fabrication.
• Produce fabrication/assembly documentation and assist with board bring-up and debug.
• Participate in SRR/PDR/CDR and flight-hardware reviews as layout authority.
