Job summary

Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA is seeking a Flight Paramedic to deliver advanced critical care during transport to the hospital. You will coordinate with firefighters and police at the scene and lead EMS crews to patient care.

The role requires Paramedic certification and ACLS/BLS/NALS/PALS within 30 days of start. Rotating days/nights work is expected; Chippenham offers comprehensive benefits and education support.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• NALS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Paramedic License/Certification required
• Vocational School Graduate required
• Basic Trauma Life Support or Prehospital Trauma Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Ability to work rotating days/nights and weekends

Responsibilities

• Operate emergency medical vehicle and respond to emergent calls.
• Evaluate patient condition to determine right course of treatment.
• Provide emergency medical treatment to injured or ill persons.
• Perform invasive procedures under adverse conditions.
• Manage non-medical situations and protect patient property when needed.
• Lift and transport patients ensuring stability during transport.
• Communicate patient data and condition to receiving medical personnel.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Paramedic responds to medical emergencies and provides advanced critical care during the transport to the hospital. As the first healthcare provider at the scene, the Paramedic partners with firefighters and police in evaluating the situation. The Paramedic offers basic and advanced life saving support, administers treatments, and directs EMTs in delivering patient care consistent with training and level of certification.

What you will do in this role

• Operate emergency medical vehicle and responds to calls for aid in emergent situations.
• Evaluate patient condition to establish the right course of treatment.
• Provide a variety of emergency medical treatment to injured, sick, or incapacitated persons.
• Perform invasive procedures under adverse conditions.
• Manage non-medical situations such as crowd control and protecting the valuables of a patient if necessary.
• Lift and transport patients, ensuring patients remain stable during transport.
• Communicate patient data and condition to professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility.

What qualifications you will need

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• NALS Neonatal Advance Life Sup must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Paramedic License/Certification
• Vocational School Graduate
• Basic Trauma Life Support, or Prehospital Trauma Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Possess the ability to work rotating days/nights and weekends
