Job description

Flight Paramedic

We're hiring a Flight Paramedic to join our team of air transportation experts, responsible for safely transporting patients to and from medical facilities and scene call work. Safety, effective, and efficient patient care are core to our services. You will work with a professional team committed to high safety standards for crew and customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame.
  • Perform daily base checks, including narcotic counts.
  • Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is transferred to the accepting medical facility, maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Maintain competency through ongoing laboratory and clinical training.
  • Keep documentation of licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and procedures up to date in the Employee Education Manual.
  • Be knowledgeable in the use and routine maintenance of all emergency equipment and supplies.
  • Foster positive relationships with colleagues, EMS providers, hospitals, and the public.
  • Participate as a medical flight team member.
  • Attend pre-mission briefings and debriefings, completing all necessary documentation.
  • Assist with pre-mission checklists and pilot support, including radio, navigation, and visual activities.
  • Follow safety standards to ensure safety of all personnel, patients, and equipment prior to liftoff.
  • Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed.
  • Fill open or vacant shifts within the assigned area as directed by the Regional Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least three (3) years of experience in an ALS or critical care setting.
Preferred Education and Certifications:
  • Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications required prior to flight status; trauma certification must be obtained within 12 months.
  • Advanced Certification (FP-C) preferred; required within 24 months of hire.
  • Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
  • NREMT-P certification may be required in the assigned area.
