The City of Williston is seeking a Flight Nurse/Paramedic to provide critical care during transport by air and ground ambulances. Summary:
The Flight Nurse/Paramedic provides direct patient care during the transport of patients by fixed-wing airplane and ground ambulance in accordance with established policies, procedures, and patient care guidelines of the City of Williston Fire Department and works within the established scope of practice of the designated governed by State of North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services. The Flight Nurse/Paramedic has the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to initiate, maintain, and/or manage the critical care requirements appropriate for the patients served. The Flight Nurse/Paramedic facilitates the coordination of patient care with our partners in the region while exemplifying the core values of our customer centric organization.

Training opportunities available to obtain desired certifications for incumbents who have met the minimum certificate, license, and registration requirements.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and standard operating guidelines. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to patients, crews and groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as medications, weight-based calculations, concentration and volume calculations, infusion rates, IV infusion flow rates, and interpretation of statistical trends in vital signs to formulate treatment plans.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Internal Communications:
Regular contact within the department and with other departments as needed.Must be able to read and write formal communications with correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling.External Communications:
Regular contact with third parties, outside representatives, community groups, and mutual aid partnerships as needed.
Use of Equipment and/or Computers:
Regular use of technology and equipment for job-related functions will be required, including but not limited to computers, phones, printers, operation of various department vehicles including fire and EMS apparatus.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to utilize both internal and external resources to obtain information and data necessary to carry out routine assignments and special projects. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff. Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment, using a high level of professionalism and critical thinking.Physical Demands:
Standing in work areas, walking between work areas, and driving to various locations will be required. There will be a regular expectation to pull, push, reach, walk, stand, sit, crawl, kneel, bend and have the use of hands and fingers, use of both eyes for sight, including ability to distinguish color and distance, hearing, extensive use of arms and legs to climb on top of, under, in and around equipment and facilities; work in proximity and use of computer screens; verbally communicating, and moving objects. The employee must be able to physically move, lift, carry and manipulate up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in and outside of various locations and weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is loud. The employee will work at designated City of Williston Fire Department facilities and designated partner facilities. Work areas are to be kept clean, safe, and functional. The employee may be required to work extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Work schedules are rotational on a fixed cadence. Employees are expected to work for one (1) week, followed by two (2) weeks off duty.
