Job summary

Air Evac Lifeteam is hiring a Flight Nurse in Macomb, IL to transport patients to and from facilities and conduct scene calls. You will work with air transportation experts, prioritize safety, and uphold high standards of patient care.

Minimum qualifications include 3 years in Emergency or Adult Critical Care as an RN, active RN license in the relevant states, multiple certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP) and CFRN within 24 months of hire. Prior flight experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in Emergency or Adult Critical Care as a licensed RN.
• Current RN license in states served by the assigned area.
• EMT Certification & Trauma Certification in state(s) where required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP required prior to flight status (NRP provided during new hire).
• CFRN required within 24 months from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess situations to determine best course of action to support, monitor and treat patients in critical care.
• Use critical thinking to manage critically ill or injured adult or pediatric patients and support physicians’ orders.
• Maintain safe, clean, and well-stocked aircraft environment; perform base and equipment checks; comply with safety standards and briefings.
• Communicate effectively with air and ground teams, dispatch, flight crews, facilities and partners.
• Share shift change information and maintain accurate documentation and records according to protocols.
• Maintain required certifications and ongoing training for the position.
