Job summary

Cirrus Aircraft in Duluth, MN seeks an Aircraft Maintenance Technician to inspect, repair and replace aircraft system components to ensure airworthiness. You will evaluate engine and propeller systems, troubleshoot flight controls, electrical and environmental systems after flights, and collaborate with Quality to certify readiness for airworthiness.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 0-1 years experience in manufacturing or aircraft mechanical maintenance.
  • Airframe & Powerplant License required if no prior experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and production illustrations to determine parts relationships.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication (written and verbal).
  • Ability to manage stress and multiple projects.

Job description

Overview

Ensure aircraft airworthiness through the inspection and repair of all aircraft systems.

Responsibilities
  • Develop skills to independently operate, inspect, repair and replace aircraft system components.
  • Learn to evaluate and troubleshoot flight control rigging, aircraft structures, fuel, brake, environmental and electrical systems after every flight in an efficient manner.
  • Examine engine and propeller systems for normal operation and make adjustments as required.
  • Identify source of malfunction by conducting engine runs to locate identify a fix.
  • Replace or repair faulty components such as alternators, magnetos, propeller, ignition system, fuel system, etc.
  • Inspect engine parts for improper wear/warping or other defects, servicing the aircraft systems as required.
  • Works with Quality Department to certify the aircraft is prepared for Certificate of Airworthiness and works to a manufacturing schedule.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 0-1 years experience in manufacturing or aircraft mechanical maintenance.
  • Airframe & Powerplant License required if no prior experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • Ability to read, interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints and production illustrations, and other specifications to determine the identify, location and relationship of aircraft parts.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to effectively manage stress, including competing work demands and multiple projects at the same time.
  • Solid knowledge of hand & power tools.
  • Able to complete work on schedule.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willing to learn new skills.

Preferred:

  • Associates degree in Aircraft Maintenance Technology or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Airframe & Powerplant License strongly desired.

Pay Range

Salary Range: USD $26.48/Hr. - USD $39.72/Hr.
