Job summary

The role holds buy-off authority at inspection points, ensuring conformance to drawings, specs, and work instructions on mission-critical hardware. Responsibilities include performing MIP inspections, applying NASA standards, documenting results in real time, and stopping the line if nonconformance is found.

Qualifications

• Requires US Citizenship or PR due to sensitive information.
• Associate degree or equivalent required.
• 3+ years related work experience; 5+ years if no degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process floor inspections at Manufacturing Inspection Points (MIPs) per the production traveler.
• Buy off MIPs once conformance is verified; withhold buy-off if nonconformance is identified.
• Apply NASA workmanship and quality requirements (NASA-STD-8739 series) on flight hardware.
• Use precision measurement equipment appropriate to each MIP.
• Document inspection results and nonconformances in traveler and QMS in real time.
• Communicate quality anomalies and support containment of affected product.
• Verify tool calibration prior to use; maintain clean, organized inspection station.
• Other duties as assigned.
