Job summary

Endeavor Optical Network (EON) is hiring a software engineer to own the flight and embedded stack for spaceborne payloads—from drivers to real-time control loops. You will work closely with GNC and Lasercom teams to ensure robust, deterministic code on embedded platforms.

Based in Culver City, CA, the role involves hardware bring-up on new boards, developing drivers (I2C/SPI/UART), telemetry interfaces, and fault management. Relocation support and stock options are offered.

Qualifications

• Embedded development depth in C/C++ across bare-metal and RTOS.
• Hands-on hardware bring-up with debugging across software/hardware.
• Low-level peripheral experience: I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded firmware for terminal and payload electronics.
• Build payload application layer: commanding, telemetry, fault management.
• Implement real-time control loops and interfaces to bus.
• Support board bring-up with EE seats and write low-level drivers.
• Instrument systems for observability: logging and diagnostics.
• Set up the embedded toolchain: build systems, CI, HW-in-the-loop tests.
• Define path from demonstrator software to flight-ready software.
