Electra Aero in Manassas, VA, is seeking an Engineering Manager – Flight Control System to lead the IPT and people management for the EL9\'s Flight Control System. You will inherit an established architecture and drive design to certifiable configuration.

This role requires deep systems engineering and leadership to build a high-performing team; you\'ll collaborate across systems, avionics, actuation, propulsion, and flight test, delivering on schedule and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of aerospace experience.
• Proven leadership of cross-functional teams.
• Experience with certification processes (ARP4754A, FHA, FMEA, FTA).
• Knowledge of actuation, avionics, sensors, and propulsion interfaces.
• Direct engagement with FAA or equivalent authorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end Flight Control System development from design to certification.
• Lead system integration across actuation, avionics, propulsion, and structures.
• Define and execute certification plans and safety assessments.
• Build and lead a high-performing flight controls team.
• Oversee integration, verification, and flight testing for performance and safety.
