Job Title: Flight Attendant (English‑Speaking & Bilingual/LOD)

About the Role

Delta Air Lines is hiring Flight Attendants to join our In‑Flight Services team, and we have openings for both English‑speaking candidates and those fluent in a second language for our Language of Destination (LOD) program. If you are applying as a bilingual Flight Attendant, you will need to complete a language assessment during the hiring process. LOD languages we are currently accepting include Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Korean, and Swedish. Candidates hired into the LOD program must commit to a two‑year term in that role.

Before you apply, understand this: our flights operate around the clock, every day of the year. That means early mornings, late nights, overnights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts when operational demands require it. This is not a 9‑to‑5 job, and flexibility is essential from day one.

Training Commitment

New hires must complete seven consecutive weeks of paid training at our World Headquarters in Atlanta, GA. During those seven weeks, you will receive training pay, some meals, and shared lodging if you live more than 25 miles from the training facility. Once training is complete, you will report to your assigned base. Base options vary based on operational need, and LOD Flight Attendants may have different base assignments than general hires.

What You Will Do On the Job

• Prioritize safety and customer comfort above everything else — this is non‑negotiable at Delta
• Deliver genuine, consistent customer service in a fast‑moving, sometimes stressful environment
• Solve problems in real time and communicate clearly with customers and crew members
• Represent Delta's core values in every interaction, especially when things do not go smoothly
• Respond to onboard emergencies, including ditching situations, and administer basic first aid or CPR when needed
• Make public address and safety announcements in compliance with federal and company standards
• Prepare, serve, and sell beverages (including alcohol) and meals (which may include beef, pork, seafood, or peanuts)
• Assist customers with lifting and storing luggage into overhead bins that can be as high as 76 inches from the floor
• Remain adaptable to last‑minute schedule changes and operational demands
• Work confidently as a self‑starter when immediate leadership is not available, partnering with fellow crew members as needed

Who We Are Looking For

• Eligible to work in the United States
• At least 21 years old at the time of application
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Fluency in English (speak, read, write, and understand)
• Valid passport with at least 30 months of validity remaining before your first day of training. Non‑US passport holders must also show documentation proving unrestricted entry and exit from the United States
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment DOT drug test and comprehensive background check
• Ability to sit and fasten the seatbelt and shoulder harness on the jump seat of any aircraft in our fleet
• Ability to simultaneously reach 76 inches (6 feet, 4 inches) from the floor and 35 inches (3 feet) in width to safely close a standard Boeing 767 door
• Ability to open emergency exits and close aircraft doors weighing up to 60 pounds, and push or pull a food/beverage cart requiring 32 pounds of force
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, and lift frequently throughout a shift
• Willingness to accept assignment to any Flight Attendant base after graduation. LOD hires must remain at their assigned base for a minimum of two years
• Willingness to relocate or commute (using standby travel) to and from your assigned base, and ability to fly both domestic and international routes
• Ability to attend and complete all seven weeks of paid training in Atlanta

Preferred Qualifications

• A degree beyond high school or GED is preferred but not required.

Appearance and Application Policies

Delta maintains specific appearance requirements for Flight Attendants, both during hiring and after graduation.
