Job summary

FlexSteel Pipe in Baytown, TX is seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembly Technician to set up and operate equipment for our flexible pipes. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will read drawings, perform assemblies, and assist with maintenance and troubleshooting while adhering to company policies, PPE, and safety certifications. Travel to remote locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical assembly or a related field is preferred.
• 0-5 years of relevant experience or related field.
• Cands must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Proven experience in mechanical assembly and equipment operation.
• Welding and NTD experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and assembly techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of mechanics, metal forming, and/or extrusion equipment and processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machinery used in the manufacturing of flexible pipes.
• Perform mechanical assembly operations as part of the equipment setup process.
• Conduct basic routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Completes required documentation records, as required, in accordance with procedures.
• Document and report any issues or discrepancies in the equipment set up, production, quality, maintenance, and any other issues encountered.

This is a FlexSteel Pipe position and is located in Baytown, TX.

Schedule

Looking for entry level and senior level experience.

Rotating 2 weeks on day shift 2 weeks on night shift.

Hours: 7am- 7pm and 7pm-7am

Employees can be on any of these shift schedules, candidates need to be comfortable with all:

• 108 hours per pay period : 1 week- Mon-Fri 2-week Mon- Thurs = 108 hours -- Repeat - Weekends off
• 96 hours per pay period : 2 days on- 2 days off- 3 days on- 2 days off- 3 days on- 2 days off-- Repeat (Every other weekend off every 4 weeks) = 96 hours per pay period

• The Mechanical Assembly Technician will be responsible for setting up and operating equipment that requires mechanical assembly operations. This role is crucial to ensuring the efficient and accurate production of our flexible pipes.
