Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Lancaster, PA is seeking a General Helper to support our flexographic printing operations. You will assist press operators, set up equipment, run quality checks, and help maintain production flow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of related experience in manufacturing, printing, or similar mechanical environments.
• Ability to read, write, and follow simple instructions.
• Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Proficient with basic hand tools.
• Strong attendance and reliability.
• Willingness to work overtime, including during peak periods.
• Ability to perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, maintain, and operate flexographic press equipment.
• Conduct make-ready activities including installing anilox rollers, plates, inks, and dies, ensuring optimal print quality.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform minor adjustments on equipment to maintain production standards.
• Notify supervisors when repairs or replacement parts are needed.
• Deliver finished materials to designated production areas.
• Perform routine quality checks in line with print specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and operating guidelines.
• Understand and comply with documentation associated with the printing process.
• Assist in training other team members as assigned.
• Support other printing processes as needed.
• Work with cross-functional departments, including maintenance, on various projects.
• Contribute to LEAN initiatives focused on safety, waste reduction, quality, and cycle-time improvement.
• Other duties as assigned.
