Job summary

Resource Label Group is seeking a Flexo Press Operator to set up and run a printing press for labels. The 4-day, 10-hour shift runs Mon.-Thurs., 5:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a pay range of $27.00–$30.00 per hour depending on DOE.

Onsite training and opportunity for skilled trade growth are provided. The role requires handling ink systems, die loading, press adjustments, quality checks, and routine maintenance while maintaining a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of flexographic printing press experience.
• Able to read rulers, scales and other measurement devices.
• Able to stand/walk routinely and lift up to 50 lb as needed.
• Good math skills for measurements and settings.

Responsibilities

• Reads job order and loads dies into press; installs print cylinder.
• Fills ink pans, screens and pumps with prescribed inks.
• Starts press and adjusts stock speed and alignment to print cylinder.
• Engages print cylinders and adjusts impression as needed.
• Inspects printed sample for defects and adjusts as necessary.
• Cleans plates, cylinders and dies; performs routine maintenance.
• Mixes inks to achieve target colors and viscosity.
• Maintains clean, organized work area according to housekeeping standards.

The Flexo Press Operator (4 days - 10-hour schedule, First shift is Mon.-Thurs., 5:00 am to 3:30 pm, $27.00 to $30.00/hour+ DOE) is responsible for setting up and operating the printing press to produce labels and related products.

Responsibilities

• Reads job order and loads dies into press, installs print cylinder on shaft and installs print cylinder in press.
• Fills ink pans, screens and pumps with prescribed inks.
• Starts press, adjusting speed and alignment of stock to the print cylinder as necessary.
• Engages print cylinders; adjusts printing impression as necessary, places print cylinders lead-to-lead and runs down approval strip.
• Cuts sample of approval strip from printed roll, inspects for imperfections such as print to print out of register, print to die out of register, missing impression, ink starvation or color adjustments, making adjustments as necessary.
• Cleans plates, print cylinders and dies as needed, performs daily, weekly and monthly maintenance as required.
• Mixes inks to produce and maintain desired colors and viscosity.
• Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of one year of flexographic printing press experience.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Must be able to read and interpret ruler, scales and other measurement devices.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently is required to walk.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
