Job summary

Stanbridge University is seeking Adjunct Vocational Nursing (VN) Faculty to educate and mentor the next generation of vocational nurses across multiple campus locations including LA/Alhambra. The role delivers theory, skills labs, and clinical practice with a focus on patient safety and current nursing standards.

Ideal candidates hold a California RN or LVN license, a BA/BS degree, and at least four years of recent clinical nursing experience, including acute care.

Qualifications

• Current, active California RN or LVN license
• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum of four (4) years of clinical nursing experience within the past five (5) years
• Minimum of one (1) year of acute care experience within the past five (5) years
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification required
• Previous teaching or precepting experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• ATI and CourseKey experience preferred
• Up-to-date immunization records required

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinical and/or theory instruction using approved course materials
• Develop instructional strategies that engage students and promote clinical judgment
• Evaluate student competency using established clinical and academic standards
• Facilitate the integration of theory into clinical practice
• Ensure patient safety and compliance with clinical agency and university policies
• Lead pre- and post-clinical conferences to reinforce learning
• Engage students in reflective practice and critical thinking
• Foster a professional learning environment that promotes accountability, integrity, and collaboration
• Support student success through active engagement and instructional flexibility
• Maintain accurate and timely records of student grades, attendance, and performance
• Maintain current knowledge of clinical practice and instructional content
• Participate in department meetings and shared governance activities as required
