Job summary

Wareham Public Schools seeks Tutors for in-person and virtual student support. Tutors will assist students temporarily unable to attend school in person, delivering individualized instruction and ongoing communication with families and school teams.

Tutoring may take place in an approved community setting or virtually, depending on student needs. Hourly wage is $40.50, with 5–10 hours per week per student and a flexible schedule after school or evenings.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Massachusetts DESE Teaching Certificate.
• Experience tutoring or teaching school-age students.
• Experience working with students with special needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic instruction and tutoring.
• Follow the student’s educational goals, learning plan, and accommodations.
• Adapt lessons to meet each student’s learning style and needs.
• Support students with organization, study skills, confidence, and engagement.
• Maintain a safe, respectful learning environment.
• Communicate regularly with families and school staff.
• Track student progress and provide brief session notes.
