Job summary

Kokua Education seeks substitute teachers for New Orleans to help shape student opportunities. You can set your own schedule, work up to 5 days a week, and earn up to 150 USD per day.

Positions include daily and long-term assignments, paid via W-2 to simplify taxes. A minimum of 1 year working with kids and an Associate’s degree or 60+ credit hours are required, with background checks reimbursed after 10 assignments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience working with kids in any setting.
• Associate’s degree or 60+ college credits required.
• Ability to manage a classroom and supervise activities.
• Willing to step in as needed (lunch/recess supervision, tutoring, testing).
• Pass state and federal background checks (costs reimbursed after 10 assignments).

Responsibilities

• Teach as a substitute in K‑12 schools in the New Orleans area.
• Set your own schedule and work up to 5 days/week.
• Maintain classroom order and follow lesson plans when provided.
• Assist with supervision during lunch/recess and during testing season.
