Qualifications
Master’s degree in speech language pathology required.
1–3 years experience in speech language pathology needed.
Active Georgia SLP license is mandatory.
BLS certification is necessary.
ASHA certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, or swallowing difficulties.
Develop and implement effective treatment programs.
Provide counseling to patients and their families about testing results.
Establish patient understanding and treatment goals.
Create accurate documentation for all patient visits.
Maintain communication with staff and outside agencies.
Refer patients to medical specialists as required.
Skills
Familiarity with speech and cognitive disorders
Strong interpersonal skills
Communication skills
Basic computer literacy
Ability to comply with regulatory standards
Education
Master’s degree in speech language pathology
Active Georgia SLP license
1–3 years experience in speech language pathology
BLS certification
