Job summary

Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana is seeking a SPED Teacher of Record for the Grant County Excel Center in Marion, IN. The role supports students with disabilities under IEPs with a flexible, standards-aligned curriculum and a strong focus on collaboration with staff.

You will plan instruction, monitor progress, and participate in data-driven decision making to improve student outcomes and graduation readiness.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and a current Indiana Teaching Certification in Special Education-Mild and/or Intense Intervention.
Displays knowledge of Indiana Academic Standards, Common Core, and 21st Century Skills.
Demonstrates comprehension of federal, state, and local mandates governing special education services.
Adept at student observations and collecting information to improve learning outcomes.
Plans with detail, follows through, and pursues quality across multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

Designs curricula and assessments aligned to Indiana Academic Standards, Common Core, and 21st Century Skills.
Holds case conference committee meetings and sets measurable goals.
Maintains student records (IEPs, 504s) and prepares required documentation.
Monitors IEP implementation and shares progress with staff and families.
Develops compliant transition plans for students.
Maintains visibility in the school and communicates data to staff.
Tracks data to set goals and drive improvements in outcomes.
Collaborates with the director to support school-wide goals.
