Job summary

Squaxin Island Tribe is seeking a friendly cashier to serve customers in our store. The role focuses on accurate cash handling, POS operation, and delivering courteous service.

The position requires standing for long periods, occasional heavy lifting, and availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays. A High School diploma or GED is required, with prior retail experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Prior cashier and customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Excellent communication and friendly demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Operates POS systems and cash registers, opening/closing the till.
• Maintains safe environment by following safety procedures.
• Provides courteous service and promptly answers customer questions.
• Keeps store clean and organized, including custodial tasks.
• Stocks shelves and handles occasional lifting of heavy items.
• Works varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Attends mandatory meetings and training.
• Maintains customer and staff privacy and confidentiality.
• Complies with tribal policies and security standards.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
