Job summary

West Valley City is seeking a diligent custodian to maintain cleanliness of city offices and facilities. The role involves cleaning, dusting, waste handling, and minor repairs, with a focus on safety and reliability.

The position offers a Monday–Thursday schedule from 11am to 9pm, full benefits, and eligibility for Utah Retirement and pension plans. A high school diploma or GED and a Utah driver’s license are required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year of custodial experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Valid Utah driver’s license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, all surfaces, and trim.
• Cleans offices, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas.
• Dusts furniture and equipment and polishes metalwork.
• Washes walls, ceiling, woodwork, windows, door panels and sills.
• Transports trash to disposal area and maintains waste logs.
• Vacuums hallways, offices, conference rooms, stairs, using various vacuums.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies and keeps inventory log up to date.
• Reports maintenance issues to supervisor and assists in minor repairs.
