Job summary

Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc. (HEAD START & EARLY START) in Danbury seeks hourly Substitute Assistant Teachers for flexible, per-shift coverage. Substitutes may lead to permanent roles and fit well for students or parents seeking part-time work.

Program hours are Monday–Friday 7:30am–6:00pm with shifts such as 8–4, 10–6, or 2–6. Position involves assisting classrooms with routines, meals, and activities for children aged 6 weeks–5 years. Bilingual candidates are encouraged.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• HS diploma or GED (preferred).
• Some childcare or preschool experience; or motivated to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist classrooms to maintain routines, curriculum, meals and activities for children 6 weeks to 5 years old.
• Support teachers and substitute coordinator in daily coverage and on-call needs.
