Job summary

Pine Acres Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist to support residents in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting. You will assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing function and develop individualized therapy plans to improve communication and swallowing safety.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina Speech-Language Pathologist license.
• CCC-SLP preferred; Clinical Fellows encouraged to apply.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a healthcare setting.
• Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing function.
• Develop individualized therapy plans based on patient needs and clinical findings.
• Provide direct treatment to improve communication abilities and swallowing safety.
• Train patients in compensatory strategies and assistive communication methods when needed.
• Educate families and caregivers on support techniques and care strategies.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and therapy disciplines to coordinate care plans.
• Participate in discharge planning and transition-of-care discussions.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements.
• Support compliance with Medicare and other applicable guidelines.
