Job summary

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital; Fort Smith is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team on a PRN basis. The role involves assisting with patient care, communicating progress to the supervising therapist, and helping with scheduling and documentation.

This position offers day shifts with flexible hours, occasional weekend and holiday coverage, and opportunities to grow within a compassionate, patient‑focused network operated in partnership with Lifepoint Health.

Qualifications

• Active COTA license in the state of practice.
• CPR certification.
• Strong communication, time-management, and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Communicate patient progress or concerns to the supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team.
• Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in follow-through programs and home exercises.
• Assist with patient scheduling and post treatment charges to patient records daily.
• Document patient care accurately and in accordance with all regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain treatment equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
