Job summary

Wonderschool in Southport, NC is seeking Preschool and Daycare Substitute Teachers to join a flexible, school-based team. You’ll fill in for teachers on leave and provide a safe, nurturing learning environment for young children.

Shifts run 4–8 hours between 6 AM and 6 PM, with onboarding bonuses, completion bonuses based on hours, referrals, and training reimbursements. You’ll collaborate with a program director and communicate with families about each child’s progress.

Qualifications

• Must pass a state background check.
• Must complete TB test / physical.
• Experience with children ages 0-5 preferred.
• Able to work 4–8 hour shifts between 6 AM and 6 PM.

Responsibilities

• Fill in for teachers on leave and support daily activities.
• Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
• Engage children in activities: educational games, arts & crafts, music, meals, outdoor play.
• Work with a team of teachers under the onsite program director.
• Communicate with families about each child’s day and progress.
• Complete a training and onboarding process.
