Howard University Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Physical Therapist for outpatient services in Washington, DC. You will evaluate referred patients, design personalized treatment plans, and work flexibly within the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation team.

Responsibilities include initial evaluations, goal-oriented treatment programs, coordination with medical staff, and documentation of progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from CAPTE/ APTA
• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy accepted if earned before Jan 2016
• DC licensure to practice physical therapy
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification
• Completion of a clinical internship in Physical Therapy
• Ability to adapt PT techniques to diverse populations
• Ability to prioritize and exercise independent, ethical judgment
• Knowledge of clinical and fiscal data collection and reporting
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills with dexterity

Responsabilités

• Perform complete initial physical therapy evaluations for referred patients.
• Develop and implement treatment plans with short- and long-term goals after physician approval.
• Provide information to medical staff to inform treatment modifications.
• Coordinate home programs and referrals for community services.
• Participate in teaching programs as required.
• Maintain accurate patient records of prescriptions, goals, and responses to treatment.
• Administer and monitor modalities (e.g., ultrasound, diathermy, cryotherapy).
• Evaluate and treat patients involving total joints in PACU under the Total Joint of Excellence Program.
