Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Lab Associate in Chelmsford, MA for a Per Diem position in the Laboratory department. Duties include collecting blood and non-blood specimens, ensuring proper labeling, and delivering samples to the lab.

Open availability Mon-Fri 7:30am-6pm when called to cover shifts, with no set weekly hours. Responsibilities also include documenting specimen collections, assisting with basic testing, and maintaining a clean, organized work area while adhering to PPE and safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy program and PBT certification preferred.
• At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience recommended.
• ACLS/BLS may be required depending on specialty.
• Knowledge of LIS/EMR systems and medical terminology helpful.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens using venipuncture, skin puncture, or heel sticks.
• Collect non-blood samples such as urine or sputum.
• Verify requisitions and maintain accurate labeling and documentation.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and ensure proper storage.
• Communicate test information to patients and maintain safety protocols.
