Responsibilities include one-on-one or small-group instruction, modeling positive behavior, following lesson plans, and providing IEP-aligned support across multiple schools.

Qualifications

• Georgia requires paraprofessionals to meet one of several state options.
• High school diploma or GED and 60+ semester hours or 90 quarter hours.
• Associates degree or higher, or passing the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers and keep classrooms running smoothly.
• Work one-on-one or in small groups to help students succeed academically.
• Create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment.
• Encourage good behavior and reinforce classroom routines.
• Follow teacher lesson plans and guidance with confidence.
• Support students with special needs, including IEP-aligned assistance.
• Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times.
• Adapt to different schools, grade levels, and classroom styles.
