Job summary

The Sanford School Department is seeking a substitute custodian to help keep school facilities clean and safe. You will clean classrooms, hallways, bathrooms and common areas, vacuum floors, remove trash, and assist with exterior maintenance during winter.

Reliable attendance and physical stamina are essential. This per diem position offers flexible hours and requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with preference for individuals who can demonstrate dependable attendance and a strong work

Qualifications

• Current Maine CHRC (Active fingerprints with Dept. of Education or ability to obtain).
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• Pass a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned areas of the school, including classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, and common areas.
• Vacuums and cleans floors.
• Removes trash.
• Maintains outside areas of the school during winter months as needed.
• Works cooperatively with the head custodian and coworkers.
