Job summary

Bristol Hospice in Tooele, UT is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team on a PRN, hourly basis. You will support the Interdisciplinary Group Team under RN supervision, providing personal care and helping promote comfort for patients and families.

The ideal candidate is a CNA in good standing, with CPR certification, and ideally 1 year of hospice or medical/surgical experience. Valid driver’s license and willingness to undergo background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (applicable for all States, additional requirements for California residents).
• CALIFORNIA REGULATION: Must be a CNA in good standing AND must have a current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification in good standing in the State of California.
• Preferred to have one (1) year of experience in community health, hospice, or medical/surgical environments.
• Must have completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured and in good working order.
• Willingness to submit to a criminal background check prior to hire and annually thereafter.
• Current CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care needs after a patient's assignment and attend to requests promptly; report to Case Manager if unable.
• Provide patient and family with positive communication techniques and maintain confidentiality.
• Meet safety needs of patient and use equipment safely.
• Provide personal care including baths, oral hygiene, and changing bed linen as assigned.
• Assist in dressing and undressing patients as assigned.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals, including shopping, as assigned.
• Assist in feeding the patient as assigned.
• Take and record vital signs when ordered with skills competency.
• Provide care to prevent skin breakdown and monitor patient condition.
• Assist with ambulation and positioning as directed.
• Assist with medications reminders as allowed by state regulations.
• Assist with bedpan/urinal and light laundry as needed.
• Maintain clean and orderly living area and adhere to care procedures.
