Job summary

The Salvation Army Youth Center in Peoria seeks a Program Aide to assist in educational, recreational, and developmental programs for youth. You will support the Youth Director, help supervise activities, and ensure a safe, engaging environment for children.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, a passion for the mission, and 1–2 years of youth experience. A flexible, sporadic schedule is required. SFH certification is expected.

Qualifications

• Passion for fulfilling The Salvation Army mission and ability to convey it to others.
• Pass pre-employment background inquiry and annual motor vehicle check with a valid license.
• Enjoy working with school-aged children and demonstrate sound morals and leadership.
• One to two years of youth experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the Youth Center's administrative tasks: typing, filing, transcribing, and preparing workshop materials.
• Support Youth Director with program duties and event coordination.
• Supervise after-school activities, homework help, tutoring, crafts, and computer stations.
• Assist with room setup, schedule activities, meal prep, and recreation.
• Safely supervise students and follow Safe From Harm guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
