Job summary

NextCare in Marble Falls, TX, seeks a part-time physician to join our urgent care team. The role offers clinic hours with a minimum of four shifts per month and a monthly supervision stipend for APPs.

You will supervise and provide prescriptive delegation for up to seven APPs and participate in direct patient care. The position emphasizes clinical autonomy, flexible scheduling, and no routine after-hours charting.

Qualifications

• Active Texas medical license required.
• MD or DO degree.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or related specialty.
• Active DEA license or ability to obtain.
• Ability to treat patients of all ages.
• Active BLS certification.
• EHR proficiency.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays.
• DOT certification or willingness to obtain; fees covered.
• Willingness to supervise and prescriptive delegation for APPs in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging.
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound care.
• Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions clearly.
• Document patient care accurately in the EHR and code/bill services.
• Maintain productivity per urgent care benchmarks.
• Align practice with NextCare standards and values.
• Provide supervision and prescriptive delegation for APPs.
