Job summary

Allied Universal in New York, NY seeks a Security Officer - Part Time Enhanced, unarmed patrol coordinator, to provide dependable security services at a designated site with flexible hours.

The role features fixed anchor shifts with a six-month commitment and a program to pick up extra shifts via our scheduling platform, enabling earnings growth and cross-site experience. Pay rate is $18.87/hour.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security‑related experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and agency partners by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, building perimeters, entrances, common spaces, and surrounding grounds to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor and resident movement in accordance with location procedures, helping to support an orderly environment.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required documentation, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and appropriate personnel.
