Job summary

Allied Universal in Redwood City, CA is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Access Control. This role offers fixed anchor shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts for higher earnings, up to a full-time schedule. Pay rate is $29.50 per hour with a six-month anchor commitment.

The position emphasizes customer service, access control, and incident response within a technology and telecommunications site. Prior security experience and a valid Guard Card are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control or badge experience preferred.
• Guard Card or license preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screening as required by law.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a technology and telecommunications location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain accurate entry records, and report unauthorized access attempts or irregular activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and communication procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, and the perimeter to identify and report security-related concerns, facility hazards, or unusual conditions.
• Document observations, incidents, and daily activities in required reports, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
