Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access in Greer, SC. This role offers reliable, fixed shifts with the option to pick up extra shifts via our scheduling platform, enabling you to increase earnings while gaining experience across sites.

The position is part-time with a base shift and opportunities to work toward a full‑time schedule up to 40 hours per week. Compensation is $14.40 per hour, with a path to additional shifts and career growth.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to port personnel, visitors, vendors, and drivers by carrying out access‑control procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor access records, and direct authorized individuals to designated areas.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian access to restricted port facilities in accordance with established procedures, reporting unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, promptly notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, surrounding grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
