Job summary

Allied Universal in Columbus, OH is seeking a Security Officer for a part-time enhanced driver-visitor role with fixed shifts and opportunities to pick up additional shifts via the scheduling platform. The position emphasizes customer service, access control, and incident response at a retail site.

Responsibilities include monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, responding to incidents, and performing patrols.

Qualifications

A valid driver's license is required.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Alarm panel experience is preferred.
CPR certification is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories as permitted by law.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to retail location personnel, customers, and visitors by enforcing access-control procedures and site policies.
Monitor and control entry and exit points for associates, vendors, delivery personnel, and visitors in accordance with access requirements.
Verify credentials, maintain visitor and contractor logs, issue temporary access credentials, and report access-related concerns to site contacts.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner following escalation and reporting procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of designated retail areas, receiving zones, employee entrances, and the surrounding perimeter to identify and report unusual activity.
