Job summary

Archdiocese of San Antonio's St. Mark Catholic Preschool seeks a part-time Assistant Teacher to support children 18 months through 5 years old.

You will greet children, assist with daily activities, and help implement the curriculum under the Preschool Director. The role emphasizes a nurturing Catholic environment, safety, health, and development across social, emotional, physical, and cognitive dimensions.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED completed.
• Background check required.
• Flexible schedule required.
• Ability to lift 30–40 lbs as needed.
• Adhere to state licensing guidelines and safety policy.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assimilate each child upon arrival to school.
• Provide a stimulating environment for development across domains.
• Recognize and participate in children's interests and needs.
• Ensure health, welfare, and safety of each child at all times.
• Supervise children during all activities and routines.
• Assist classroom teacher with curriculum and supplies.
• Accept rotating responsibilities as assigned.
• Safety check equipment, toys, and furniture for proper functioning.
• Assist with bathroom needs per age and guidelines.
• Help care for ill and injured children as needed.
• Follow program policies and licensing guidelines.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and appropriate interactions.
• Assist with classroom management and duties of Assistant Teacher.
