Job summary

Maymont Preschool Learning Center in Richmond, Virginia is seeking a Part-Time Pre-K Floating Support Staff member to supervise and engage with preschool-age children during mealtimes, nap time, and teacher planning periods.

This role runs 9:00 am to 2:00 pm with a $15/hour wage, non-exempt status, and opportunities to support classroom routines, meals, transitions, and child safety under the supervision of the school principal.

Qualifications

• Experience with young children in childcare or school settings preferred.
• Must be able to follow oral and written directions and work cooperatively.
• Attentiveness to safety and developmentally appropriate interactions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage groups of preschoolers during meals, naps, and transitions.
• Maintain a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for young children.
• Assist with classroom and lunchroom routines and sanitation.
• Support teachers during mealtimes, cot setup, and clean-up.
• Escort and assist children with restroom and hand-washing routines.
• Report injuries, illnesses, or discipline issues to the principal or designee.
• Assist with aftercare transitions as needed.
