Job summary

Blue Door Kitchen is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our meal prep team on a part-time or contract basis. You will assist with bulk food prep, precise portioning, packaging, and order assembly, contributing to weekly production cycles.

Ideal candidates have a current Food Handler Permit and appreciate working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. You will stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and collaborate closely with a team to ensure safe, accurate meals for customers.

Qualifications

• Current Food Handler Permit or state/county-equivalent card required within 30 days.
• Experience in high-volume meal prep is a plus but not required.
• Ability to follow recipes exactly and portion meals consistently.

Responsibilities

• Bulk food prep following batch recipes and production sheets.
• Portion and package meals with scales to meet macro specs.
• Maintain food safety and cold-chain standards; log temps.
• Operate bulk culinary tools and keep stations sanitized.
• Assist with fulfillment, labeling, and staging packages.
