Job summary

Pellissippi State Community College is hiring part-time tutors (Tutor I-III) to support students across five campuses or remotely. The role focuses on individual and group tutoring to boost academic success and retention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a writing-intensive major is required for Writing/English tutors.
• Math tutors must have completed the next higher class with a B or better.
• Transcripts must be provided.
• Ability to utilize computer applications, including Internet use.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students individually and in groups; adapt methods to student needs.
• Complete tutor training activities and submit required paperwork.
• Communicate with Academic Tutoring staff.
• Visit classes and events to promote tutoring services.
• Confer with other tutors and teachers to resolve students' problems.
• Refer students to other departments/resources within the College.
