Job summary

San Ramon Family Optometry in San Ramon, California seeks a flexible optometrist to join an established practice on a fill-in basis, delivering full-scope eye care, including exams, diagnosing and treating conditions, prescribing glasses and contact lenses, and coordinating referrals. Regular hours are 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

weekdays with biweekly Saturday coverage; fill-in dates for 2026 include July 20, 21, 23, 30 and October 19–30.

Qualifications

• Optometrist license in California (CA)
• Availability for scheduled fill-in coverage
• Contact lens fitting experience
• Glaucoma certification
• Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents certification
• Electronic health record charting experience
• Preferred experience in a private practice or fast-paced clinical setting

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye exams and deliver patient-centered care.
• Diagnose and manage eye conditions, including glaucoma and other ocular diseases.
• Fit and dispense contact lenses and prescribe spectacles.
• Coordinate referrals to other specialists as needed.
• Utilize the clinic’s electronic health record for charting and patient communication.
