Job summary

Geeks on Site is hiring an On-Call IT Field Technician to support residential and small business customers. The role focuses on computer troubleshooting, networking, printer configuration, and on-site IT service, with additional POS or TV mounting work based on experience.

Independent contractor status (1099) with flexible scheduling and no guaranteed hours. You’ll choose availability, drive radius, and receive dispatched jobs matching proximity and skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in IT support or field service.
• Strong networking and diagnostic skills.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver\'s license.
• Own tools including a laptop, drill, screwdrivers, cable tester, RJ45 tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair Windows and macOS issues
• Resolve WiFi, router, and wired network problems
• Install and configure printers and scanners
• Replace or upgrade hardware components
• Reinstall operating systems using bootable tools
• Document work and communicate clearly with customers
• Install and support POS systems and run Cat5e or Cat6 cabling
• Perform outdoor TV mounting and basic AV setup
• Two or more years of experience in IT support or field service
• Ability to work independently and provide professional customer service
