Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks an experienced Psychiatric NP or PA for a flexible on-call position at Carrier Clinic. The role requires at least one year of prescribing psychiatric meds and committing to at least one shift per month, working within a patient-centered care model.

Responsibilities include rounding on units during open weekend and weekday shifts, performing comprehensive assessments, ordering and interpreting tests, and providing education to patients and families.

Qualifications

• Education: NP requires Master’s/Doctorate; PA requires AMA-accredited program.
• Licenses: NJ RN, APN, and prescriptive authority where applicable.
• Skills: strong communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive history and physical assessments.
• Order and interpret labs and imaging in collaboration with physicians.
• Prescribe medications following NJ regulations and guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education and counseling.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and quality initiatives.
• Promote evidence-based practice and professional development.
