Job summary

Guidepost Montessori is seeking friendly substitute teachers to support mixed-age classrooms (0–6 years) on an on-call, as-needed basis. No formal Montessori training is required; orientation includes onboarding and training. This role is ideal for flexible hours while making a positive impact on young children.

You’ll step into several classrooms, assist with routines, and help create a calm, engaging environment. Many substitutes grow into full-time assistant roles within the Guidepost network.

Qualifications

• Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
• Valid state background check.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Warm, friendly, and dependable demeanor.
• Passion for working with young children.
• ECE units (preferred) and recent experience with 0–6 year-olds (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Step into classrooms as needed to support children and maintain consistency.
• Assist with daily routines and classroom activities across mixed-age groups.
• Help create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for children.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care.
• Model patience, professionalism, and kindness in every interaction.
