Job summary

Van Avery Prep in Temecula, CA is seeking an enthusiastic and flexible Substitute Teacher. This on-call role requires you to step into the classroom and continue the day's lessons when the regular teacher is away.

You will follow prepared lesson plans, maintain a positive learning environment, supervise students, and help deliver long-term plans when needed. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in a classroom setting with elementary and middle school students is desirable.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills and punctuality.
• Flexibility and adaptability in managing diverse classroom situations.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Follow and implement lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher.
• Maintain a positive and nurturing environment conducive to learning.
• Supervise students in the classroom and other areas as needed.
• Ensure the classroom is kept orderly and clean during coverage.
• In long-term assignments, develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with curriculum.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
