Job summary

Penquis is hiring On-Call/Substitute staff to support Child Development programs in several communities. This flexible substitute educator role is designed for candidates who want classroom experience while helping children in Early Head Start, Head Start, and child care settings.

As an on-call educator, you will welcome children, supervise activities, and assist with daily routines, while maintaining confidentiality of client information.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and up to 12 months of experience.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must meet Penquis background-check requirements upon hire and periodically thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Welcome children and help them settle into the classroom environment.
• Assist with classroom and playground supervision, daily activities, and light cleaning duties.
• Maintain the confidentiality of client files and information.
