Job summary

SLA Food Service is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker Floater to support multiple school kitchens. You will prepare and serve meals, maintain clean workspaces, and assist with deliveries and stocking across sites.

This full-time role requires reliability, flexibility, and the ability to adapt quickly to new teams and schedules. Ideal candidates will have prior food service or cleaning experience, reliable transportation, and a willingness to follow health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous food service or cleaning experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation to travel to different locations daily.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs and environments.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Must pass a background check and fingerprint screening and MVR.

Responsibilities

• Travel between school sites to assist with daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare and serve food according to recipes, production records, and safety standards.
• Keep workspaces clean, organized, and safe.
• Restock serving areas such as food lines, salad bars, and milk boxes.
• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries using FIFO practices.
• Serve meals to students, staff, and guests with a positive attitude.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks like sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
• Follow all health and safety regulations at each site.
• Step in to support kitchen teams or cover absences.
• Submit reports and complete assigned tasks on time.
• Take direction from Kitchen Managers and adjust quickly to new team dynamics.
