Job summary

AMI Flexible Machinist – 1st Shift, in a manufacturing setting, is responsible for operating multiple machines in the Punch Value Stream, setting up fixtures, and ensuring quality throughout the run.

The ideal candidate has a diploma or AAS in machine trades, at least two years of machining experience, and strong knowledge of G/M codes, CAD/CAM, GD&T, and inspection methods. They should read blueprints, edit programs, and move between cells as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma or AAS degree in the machine trades.
• G/M Code, CAD/CAM, Machinist Math, GD&T, Inspection methods.
• Minimum of two years of relevant machining experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and routings; read technical data.
• Ability to edit programs and set up multiple styles of machines; understand G&M Codes.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and set up machines manually or using small hand tools.
• Inspect and change fixtures as necessary.
• Place piece/part into fixture/machine; set dials, switches and programs.
• Monitor machine and prepare for next piece/part; remove and inspect finished parts.
• Move between cells as workload demands; follow safety data and procedures.
