Job summary

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is seeking a Licensed Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under RN supervision on an onsite Cardiac/Med Surg unit. The role emphasizes patient assessment, comfort, safety, and multidisciplinary teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Flexible day/night scheduling is available, with emphasis on building skills in a supportive, collaborative setting. Prior LNA experience is preferred, and valid BLS/CPR credentials are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of nursing assistant program preferred.
• ARC or AHA BLS, LNA certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessments and care under RN supervision.
• Record vital signs, document data, and support lab specimen handling.
• Support nutrition and hydration through feeding assistance and tray delivery.
• Assist with bedpan, hygienic care, and bathroom assistance.
• Help with mobility, transfers, and range-of-motion activities.
• Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and families.
• Maintain patient safety by following protocols and call-light responsiveness.
• Support unit operations and assist with discharge planning and tasks.
