Job summary

Global Language Connections, based in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking professional interpreters and translators to work as independent contractors on a flexible schedule. You can accept assignments as your availability allows.

We provide interpreting and translation services to hospitals, clinics, legal, and education sectors. Candidates should have interpreting training or experience, complete immunization records, pass background checks, and possess reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in English and the interpreting language.
• Effective in time management.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
• Medical or legal interpreter training.
• Examples: Interpreting degree, 40 Hours CoreCHI Community Interpreter Continuing Education.
• Prior interpreting preferred.
• Completed Immunization Records.
• Proof of citizenship or valid work permit.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferably some college.
• Must be able to pass Background Checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services as an independent contractor.
• Comply with the Interpreter Code of Ethics.
• Perform duties in a professional manner.
• Turn in client worksheets within 24 hours of the appointment.
