Job summary

Empower U is hiring a Personal Care Assistant to support children and young adults with developmental disabilities in-home in New Jersey. You will provide direct care, help with daily living activities, and assist families by offering compassionate, dependable support and role modeling.

The role requires CPR certification, a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and 2–3 years’ experience as a PCA. Flexible shifts and travel within a 10–15 mile radius are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years’ experience as a Personal Care Assistant.
• At least 6 months’ experience with children with developmental disabilities.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel 10–15 miles.
• Smartphone to access HHAX applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to youth with developmental needs.
• Engage youth in community outings, recreation, and social skills.
• Support daily living activities and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Offer peer support, positive role modeling, and encouragement.
• Communicate effectively with families, team members, and supervisors.
• Attend trainings, meetings, and supervision sessions; complete documentation.
